Along with being at Calvin College in Grand Rapids on Friday, Nov. 10th, Slavoj Zizek will also be at Wheaton College the day before, Thursday, Nov. 9th, at 7:30-9:00 in the Coray Alumni Gym. The title of his lecture will be "Why Only an Atheist Can Believe: Politics between Fear and Trembling." This event is being organized by the Wheaton Philosophy department.
Wow, Wheaton's second rock star (they have Bono a couple of years ago). By the way, I'm guessing Geoff meant to say NOV. 9.

Zizek is at Wheaton on the 9th, and Calvin on 10th. Now I just have to talk my wife into letting me go to both! It helps that I live in Chicago and she has family in GR.

Please let us know if Z's talks are put on the web.
PS James KAS, I just finished your The Fall of Interpretation and found it expressed precisely a number of thoughts I'd been having recently about the goodness of mediated creation/created mediation.
